Set up sourcing & outreach
Overview of how to automate sourcing with Tezi
Tezi’s AI Max can autonomously identify high-quality candidates for a role by applying your criteria to our database of ~750 million global profiles. You can review and advance Max’s recommended candidates manually, or auto-advance them once Max is well-tuned. Max then reaches out to advanced candidates with a personalized email sequence, and it also helps respond to candidates and advance them to next steps.
Setup
Set up sourcing from the role setup page or by following guided sourcing setup. Access guided setup at the top or in the Sourcing section of the role setup page:

Guided sourcing setup
1️⃣ Create your job description
Select Job description to create your JD. Our system uses the JD as the foundation for identifying strong candidates and for crafting personalized outreach that highlights how each candidate’s experience aligns with your role specifically.
If you provided a link to your JD during role creation, Tezi’s system may have pre-populated JD content from the link.
💼 Starter, Pro, Business, and Enterprise: Choose whether or not to publish the JD. Publishing enables you to accept inbound applications via Tezi and also means outreach messages will automatically link to the JD so that candidates can easily learn more about the role.
🌱 Lite: Tezi will publish your JD on a Tezi-hosted page. Tezi will not accept inbound applicants to the JD, but outreach messages will link to it, allowing candidates to easily learn about the role.
You can preview published JDs from the Job description page after you go live (see below).
Users with 3rd-party ATS integration: Tezi Support will connect Tezi to your existing ATS pipeline and JD, so you do not need to set up a JD in Tezi.
2️⃣ Calibrate Tezi on your target candidate profile
Train Tezi on what candidates to source through calibration.
3️⃣ (Optional but recommended) Review and advance recommended candidates
Based on your calibration, Max builds a sourcing list of recommended candidates. Review this list and schedule strong matches for outreach. Max will then contact them after you complete the steps below. If many candidates look off, refine your calibration.
You don’t need to schedule a large batch upfront—you can and typically will continue reviewing on an ongoing basis after completing setup. Read more about the sourcing list.
4️⃣ Configure your email sequence
Set up an email campaign that Max will use to reach out to qualified candidates.
5️⃣ Set weekly outreach volume
Select Sourcing volume and enter the number of candidates Tezi should contact each week. As you manually advance candidates or (if enabled) Max auto-advances them, Max will schedule advanced candidates for future outreach and contact them at this weekly rate, until all advanced candidates have been contacted.
6️⃣ (Optional but recommended) Provide Tezi with hiring context
Provide Tezi with hiring context on your role and/or company so Max can answer common candidate questions during outreach conversations. This saves you time and keeps candidates engaged with faster responses.
7️⃣ Go live on the role
After you’ve set up all the Tezi features you’re interested in—including but not necessarily limited to sourcing—Go live on the role. This enables Tezi to start automatic outreach to any candidates you’ve scheduled, as well as any other automatic actions that you have configured.
Users with 3rd-party ATS integration: You cannot self-serve activating a role due to the depth and complexity of Tezi’s ATS integration. Reach out to Tezi Support to go live on your role.
8️⃣ 🌱 Lite users only: Configure a Gmail filter for candidate replies
Set up a Gmail filter so candidate replies skip your inbox. This helps prevent duplicate replies from both you and Max.
