Inbound screening
Max can review every inbound application and help find the gems
You can use Tezi to set up a public job description and collect inbound applications. Once candidates apply, our AI Max automatically evaluates them against your predefined criteria in real time, providing you with nuanced recommendations on which candidates should move forward.
Setup
On your role setup page:
1️⃣ Create and publish your job description
Select Job description to create your JD. Once it’s complete, publish it to your Tezi-powered job board.
Users with 3rd-party ATS integration: Tezi Support will connect Tezi to your existing ATS pipeline and JD, so you do not need to set up a JD in Tezi. Our AI Max will evaluate the inbound applicants in your ATS.
2️⃣ Calibrate Tezi on your target candidate profile
Train Tezi on how to evaluate inbound applicants through calibration.
3️⃣ Go live on the role
After you’ve set up all the Tezi features you’re interested in—including but not necessarily limited to inbound screening—Go live on the role. This makes the JD publicly visible so that candidates can apply. It also activates Tezi’s system to start evaluating inbound applications as well as take any other automatic actions that you have configured.
Users with 3rd-party ATS integration: You cannot self-serve activating a role due to the depth and complexity of Tezi’s ATS integration. Reach out to Tezi Support to go live on your role.
4️⃣ (Optional but recommended) Share your job description
To attract applicants to the role, consider the following:
- Share the JD with your network
- Direct candidates from third-party job boards (e.g., Indeed, LinkedIn, etc.) to apply to the Tezi JD
- Link to the Tezi JD or job board from your company website
Inbound screening in action
As candidates apply, Tezi screens each inbound application and records its evaluation in the candidate’s Activity Feed.

Tezi moves candidates who meet your criteria to the next step automatically. Depending on how you configured the role, the next step can be either inviting the candidate to a chat screen or flagging the candidate to you for a decision on whether to advance to a human interview. Learn more about possible candidate flows.
For candidates who do not meet your criteria, Max records its evaluation and then takes no further action. These applicants remain in your pipeline, and you can review Max’s evaluations and decision the candidates at your discretion.
Ongoing optimization
To optimize inbound screening performance, monitor Max's recommendations:
- Periodically sample inbound applicants to see whether Tezi is missing any strong candidates
- Pay attention to candidates recommended by Max who turn out to be poor fits
- Review Max’s evaluation summaries on individual candidates to understand what criteria may be missing or misinterpreted
Use insights from your monitoring to recalibrate Tezi and ensure that your criteria accurately capture your actual hiring needs.
FAQ
What candidate information does Tezi use in inbound screening?
Tezi evaluates candidates based on their resumes. If a candidate did not submit a resume, Tezi evaluates based on their LinkedIn profile. Tezi does not evaluate inbound applications that do not have resumes or LinkedIn profiles attached.
Users with 3rd-party ATS integration: Tezi does not use answers from ATS application questions when screening inbound candidates. If your ATS allows you to set automatic rules based on application question responses, we recommend enabling those rules. This ensures that candidates who provide disqualifying answers are filtered out before Tezi begins inbound screening.
