Set up Tezi’s Ashby integration
Technical setup for Tezi’s Ashby integration
For 💼 Starter, Pro, Business, and Enterprise only
With Tezi's Ashby integration, you can easily keep your Ashby and Tezi data in sync. Key benefits include:
- Auto-screen your Ashby inbound pipeline with Tezi
- Exclude previously contacted candidates from Tezi's auto-sourcing
- Incorporate Tezi into your overall recruiting reporting
To set up Tezi's Ashby integration, you will need to:
- Provide an Ashby API key to Tezi. This enables Tezi's service to read and write to Ashby, keeping data in sync.
- Assign
max.tezi@[yourdomain].com
an admin seat in Ashby. This enables Tezi to provide white-glove support during onboarding and on an ongoing basis.
- Create a custom candidate source in Ashby. This is needed to automatically fill out the source field on candidates that are added to Ashby.
The steps below must be completed by an Ashby admin. Completing them typically takes ~10-20 minutes.
Part 1: Provide an Ashby API key to Tezi
- Sign into Ashby.
- Click here for the API Keys page.
- You can also navigate to this page:
Admin>Integrations>API Keys
.
- Click
+ New
to open the API key setup wizard. You’ll be asked to name your key and have the option to select your Integration Partner. - Name: We recommend "Max by Tezi (autonomous AI recruiting)"
- Integration Partner (Optional): Leave blank

- Click
Create API Key
- On the next screen, grant Tezi access to all/the following endpoint permissions:

- Click
Save and Continue
. You’ll then be able to copy your API key on the final step. - Please note you will not be able to copy your key again after closing out the setup wizard. If you forget or misplace a key, you will need to generate a new one.
- Send the API key to Tezi Support (

Part 2: Assign max.tezi@[yourdomain].com
an Ashby admin seat
When you completed non-ATS technical setup for Tezi, you created max.tezi@[yourdomain].com
so that Max can send interview scheduling emails and calendar invites from your company domain. You also sent this service account's login credentials to Tezi Support so that we can better resolve recruiting and technical issues.
In this section, you will assign an Ashby admin seat to max.tezi@[yourdomain].com
. This helps Tezi provide a smoother Ashby integration experience.
Add Max as an Ashby User:
- Sign in to Ashby
- Click here for the Employees page
- You can also navigate to the page:
Admin>Employees
- Click
New
to add a new user
- Name this user “Max by Tezi (autonomous AI recruiting)”
- Add email for Max,
max.tezi@[yourdomain].com
- Click
Create
- Finally, to activate this user, click the
Actions
dropdown, and clickActivate
Assign Max "Organization Admin" Permissions:
- When viewing the “Max by Tezi” user you created, click the
Permissions
tab
- Under
Global User Role>Role
, set the role toOrganization Admin
.

Part 3: Create a custom candidate source in Ashby
You have the option to create a custom candidate source in Ashby which ensures all candidates added from Tezi have the source field populated. This allows you to accurately track which candidates originated from Tezi.
- Sign in to Ashby
- Click here for the Candidate Sources page
- You can also navigate to the page:
Admin>Organization Setup>Candidate Sources
- Click
New Source
- Set the name of the source as "Tezi". The spelling and capitalization must match exactly.
- Set the source type as "Sourced"
- Click
Create
- [Optional] Repeat steps 3-6, with "Tezi" as the source name and the source type as "Inbound" and "Referral". This ensures that any inbound and referred candidates that were created prior to setting up the Ashby integration get the correct attribution.

That's all you need to do! Once Tezi Support team enables the feature for your account, the source field will start populating on all previously-added candidates and all candidates that are added going forward 🎉
